OMS is a glocal music project based on the re-work by 4 artists Alessio Ballerini, Giulio Aldinucci, Nicola Di Croce, Francesco Giannico of the samples collected during the last "Matera Soundscape Project" an acoustic ecology workshop in the amazing city of Matera in South Italy by Giannico and Di Croce. One Minute Soundscape was born to celebrate according to the other listening practices during the World Listening Day on July 18 because it is the birthday of Canadian writer, educator, philosopher, visual artist, and composer R. Murray Schafer.

His effort leading the World Soundscape Project and his seminal book, The Tuning of the Worldinspired global interest in a new field of research and practice known asAcoustic Ecology.

Each artist has worked to create a one minute audio track. Only requirement was to realizing the work starting from the use of audio samples collected in the city of Matera by Giannico and Di Croce, following general "soundscape composition" principles.

l'apparizione di un quadro senza tempo, così come l'epifania degli incontri e dei racconti

Title Track > Doremund

eng - A small sound fresco based on a sunny and "silent" afternoon in the city of Matera. The church choir and the sound of the station are mixed together to give the feeling of a blend of old and new elements.

ita - Un piccolo affresco sonoro tratto da un pomeriggio assolato e "silente" nella città materana. Il coro della chiesa e il suono della stazione miscelati assieme per dare la sensazione di un connubio tra elementi antichi e nuovi.
