HUMAN SCAPES FESTIVAL > DIGITAL MEDIA MEMORIES > 21>27/09 BARI/LECCE (ITALY)

What would happen if electronic music met an old archive crammed with vintage clips? The organisers (Oak Editions and Archivio Italiano Paesaggi Sonori) of the Festival "Human Scapes (Paesaggi Umani)" curated by the national association Archivio Italiano dei Paesaggi Sonori (A.I.P.S.) and Trans Tv have tried to give a practical answer to this question; from 21 to 27 September 2014 they will be present at the cineporto of Bari and Lecce with cineinstallations, talks on electroacoustic music, free workshops on acoustic ecology set in Lecce’s historical city center and especially with a series of live performances which includes some of the most interesting names of the local ambient electroacoustic scene.

Oak Editions is pleased to announce One Minute Soundscape , a very special work in free download this18th July 2014 for the World Listening Day.

OMS is a glocal music project based on the re-work by 4 artists (Giulio Aldinucci, Alessio Ballerini, Francesco Giannico , Nicola Di Croce) of the samples collected during the last "Matera Soundscape Project" an acoustic ecology workshop in the amazing city of Matera in South Italy by Giannico and Di Croce. One Minute Soundscape was born to celebrate according to the other listening practices during the World Listening Day on July 18 because it is the birthday of Canadian writer, educator, philosopher, visual artist, and composer R. Murray Schafer.
